9 Weeks Pregnant: Stats and SymptomsDiana Stone
This past week brought all kinds of changes for us. One of the biggest physical changes is that I began to get really sick in the late afternoons and evenings. So much so that really all I can do is help Bella with things, make a basic dinner, and lay on the couch.
We also were able to see our little one at my appointment, which was totally unexpected.
My husband will be gone until March and our sitter that came to help out also moved home. Right now I’m in limbo trying to hold down the fort and rest while giving Bella the attention she needs. Hoping in the next week or so we find a routine and a new sitter!
I’m showing in a big way, no hiding this 3rd pregnancy. The nice thing is I probably already look about 4 months pregnant so when I’m feeling sick or hungry in public – I know everyone probably gets it.
Here’s what happened this week!
How Far Along: 9 weeks and 4 days!
Size of baby: Green olive! I also bought an entire jar of them to eat this week. Felt slightly cannibalish.
Sleep: After one night of co-sleeping with Bella and both of us tossing and turning, everyone is back where they need to be for bed and it’s much better. It is a bit harder to sleep with Sam gone.
Total Weight Gain: I ate homemade blueberry pancakes 2 mornings in a row with butter and syrup. So there’s that.
Symptoms: Headaches. Awful. From the Zofran for the nausea. Also nausea. Food aversions. Exhaustion. And lots of emotions.
Maternity Clothes: Yes, and starting to look at buying a few new pieces for summer weather soon.
Go-to eats: Cereal. Lots of it. All plain, like Shredded Wheat or Cheerios. Also tea. Not really an eat though.
Best moment of the week: Bella showing off our ultrasound pic to just about everyone and announcing, “My mama has a tiny baby in her tummy!”
Gender: I keep thinking of this one as a girl, but Sam is convinced it’s a boy. And either way we really don’t care as long as it’s healthy.
What I wish people knew: Having your husband across the country while you’re pregnant, sick, and dealing with a 3 year old is hard – mentally more than physically. He’s only been gone 3 days and I’m already going a bit stir crazy. Sometimes Army life is kinda crappy.
What I’m looking forward to: My next midwife appointment in 2 weeks, also an ultrasound where we can get an accurate measurement of this little one.
Milestones: Graduated from an embryo to a fetus – but really, it’s a baby all the way around to me.
