Amazingly Bizarre Pregnancy Portraits Part 2

Amazingly Bizarre Pregnancy Portraits Part One was such a hit, I couldn’t resist tossing a few more your way. I have been staring at these pictures, thoughtfully assembled by the curators at Oddball Daily, wondering, once again, what were these people thinking?! This time the theme is curiously heavy on testosterone.

I get why a woman wants to showcase her belly, but why do the men in so many of these pictures feel compelled to go shirtless or even drop trou all together? Add to that the brandishing of muscles and guns. The amateur evolutionary anthropologist in me wonders if these macho impulses have to do with some innate fear of false paternity — apparently, about 1 in 10 men unknowingly raise children who aren’t their own. Or maybe they’re a defense against the threat the new baby will pose to the sex life? Or the mother’s extra potent feminine power?

Regardless, it’s very amusing to see how some people represent themselves during this time of change and upheaval. Check it out:
