It is called the Bababib. Have you heard of this thing?
I first came across this contraption on Social Toddler where they describe the Bababib as “a soft pillowy bib with a special elastic attachment that holds a baby bottle. This special design lends a helping hand during feeding times and teaches your baby how to hold a bottle themselves.”
Sounds kind of harmless, but is it really?
The makers of the product claim that a “baby can easily push the Bababib off and are not restrained by it whatsoever.”
I don’t know. They also go on to say that you should never leave your baby unattended while feeding but isn’t that exactly what is going to happen when many use this product? It seems to me like something that lazy parents would buy.
How about this instead? Bond with your baby during feeding time. Hold them. Love them. Watch over them. Skip the feeding helper and just be a parent for those moments. Trust me, they will be over before you know and your child won’t want you to hold them and feed them any more. Enjoy it while it lasts.
In my opinion this thing is horrific and an accident waiting to happen.
Where do you stand regarding the Bababib?
