Breaking Up With My Bra

I have come to a point in my pregnancy where my regular Victoria’s Secret non-maternity, non-nursing bras are no longer my friends. I was excited a couple months ago when I first got my pregnancy boobs back, but now I am on the verge of being annoyed.

I am stuck between a rock and a hard place because I am not comfortable without having a bra on, but I am not comfortable with a bra on either, at least any of the bras that I own.

I don’t want to go out and buy a bigger size in normal bras because of the fact that I will need to pony up for nursing bras soon enough. While I have a handful left over from my two sons, it seems like the laundry gnomes have also called dibs and burglarized them from my underwear drawer.

Yesterday morning I woke up with breasts feeling like rocks, no joke… Like a full night’s sleep with a nursing baby that had not been to the breast in 8 hours. HELL!

I have been looking for alternatives, and comfortable nursing bras. Some have pointed me in the direction of Bravado Designs, and I am going to have to work on my husband a little to get him on board for a $50 nursing bra, although with the input I got on twitter, they sound like sex in bra form.

I know I have a lot of nursing mothers out there who read, so why don’t you ladies help a sister out?  What did you do, and what bras worked for you during this awkward phase of the pregnancy boobs?
