In the matter of four hours, our daughter went from a 31 week fetus hanging out in my uterus, to the woman of the hour, and of course… the best dressed newborn this side of the country come May!
Despite being able to barely breathe myself, I sure was able to enjoy myself. It was amazing to see how many people truly love our Little Miss Baby A (her new nickname) and she isn’t even here yet.
Although I am not as surprised because this is the first baby girl in our family since… Me! My mother currently has 6 grandsons, including my two sons, ranging in ages 14 to 21 months. We had all given up on the thought of a girl, heck I even insisted this baby was going to be another boy… Jameson Christopher… So I guess we are at least prepared if our little girl comes out a boy! (Although I did have the ultrasound tech make sure it was still a girl last week)
I wanted to share some of the pictures from the day… I hope you enjoy as much as all of us did!
I insisted sitting on the floor because that is where I was most comfortable!
First time I have ever seen a cloth diaper cake! I was so excited!
Yes, that is her first bathing suit… and possibly the cutest thing I have ever seen in my life…
Then there was the cake accident… My sister’s childcare fell through for the day, and her almost three year old was hanging out with all the ladies. He was incredibly quiet the whole day, most didn’t even realize he was even there… until it came time for cake. He was waiting very patiently and turned to play with some of the decorations on the wall, and just so happened to put his entire arm into the cake. It was hysterical, and adorable all at the same time. I think he was more upset that he hurt the cake before eating it than anything. All in good fun!
I think we are ready for this baby now… I think I only have the car seat to get, and we are good to go. This certainly made the reality of our third child reality. But… at this point in my life… I say BRING IT ON!
