DIY Napkin Place Settings: A Pregnancy Announcementalismith
It’s more fun to announce your pregnancy (surprise!) in person. Luckily for Ashley of BabyMine.net, a visit from her parents coincided with the end of her first trimester and she was ready to spill the beans.
Using a fabric marker, Ashley traced the words “Mom,” “Dad,” “Grandma,” and “Grandpa,” onto cloth napkins. Then, she and her husband set the table as usual and invited her parents to sit down for dinner.
As she hoped, Ashley’s parents (especially her dad) fumbled trying to find their places at the table, probably a little flustered-in-the-best-way at accepting their new titles. Ashley writes, “My mother, she got it right away. Dad looked from ‘Grandpa’ to ‘Dad’ and back again before looking at us and whispering with a shocked expression, ‘You’re pregnant?'”
Bravo, Ashley! See more on here on her old blog, Hither and Thither. It would be cute to see these cloth napkins saved as keepsakes for her parents.
How did you or do you plan to announce your pregnancy?
