Extreme Birth Places: DUI Check Point

Just when you think you have heard it all, right?   I can’t say I would ever think of a woman giving birth at a DUI check point, but this weekend in my state of Connecticut… this became a reality for Mr. and Mrs. Trevor Hairston.

Plainville, Connecticut police officers were conducting a routine DUI check point in the town when the Hairston’s approached around 12:50am on Sunday morning.

According to Connecticut’s WTNH News Network:

At exactly 1:00am, Christian Hairston, 5lbs 7oz, and 18 inches long entered the world. Paramedics arrived on scene, checked the baby, and handed him to his mother.

Whoa!  Heck, if my pelvis wasn’t half bad I am sure that is what would have happened Friday night on the way to the hospital when my husband hit this giant pot hole just a mile away from our hospital.

Both mother, and baby were transported to the hospital, and are reported to be in good condition.

Can you imagine giving birth in that kind of situation?  It certainly would make for interesting story to tell for years to come!

Congratulations to the Hairston family of Connecticut!
