Feeling Accomplished on My 38 Week Bumpiversary!

Happy 38 week Bumpiversary to me and my sweet fetus!

I am on cloud 9 today for a variety of reasons–some totally superficial and others are feats of physical endurance that I am truly proud of.

38 weeks out of a possible 42! Awesome (but seriously hoping that the bun is done sooner rather than later *fingers crossed*)

I SURVIVED what I can only imagine was the toughest part of this pregnancy–being 8-9 months pregnant in August in Texas.  The average temperature was about 110 degrees.  The heat was a daily beating that exhausted me and made me feel horribly unattractive considering I was always sweaty and gross.   Think about all of your average late pregnancy complaints and then stick them in an oven for 31 days.  Good riddance August!

I am in love with this bump. It’s perfectly round and has a radiance all it’s own.  There is no doubt in anyone’s mind that I’m expecting and people are extra super nice and accommodating in public (that is when they aren’t asking me “are you having twins” *eyeroll*).

September temperatures combined with being 38 weeks has given me a little skip in my step, a buoyancy that helps me continue to swagger despite the *cough* extra 35+ pounds *cough* I’m working with.  I even managed to walk about 3 miles with my son today (granted, I almost called my husband halfway to pick us up).

NO stretchmarks….yet. And none to be had I hope.  Thanks mom for blessing me with stretchy skin.  I’ve definitely had my fair share of scars in life and I can’t help but feel blessed that I’ve been thrown a bone this time.

Ready or not, here comes baby and I’ll just continue to savor my family of 3 and take it easy until labor comes knocking.

Where are you at in your pregnancy and how do you feel about it?
