I had a funny moment this weekend. I was due to meet a friend at Starbucks in 15 minutes, but I was still butt-naked, staring into my closet. I literally had nothing to wear. Women say that all the time, but I really, really had nothing to wear – at 28 weeks pregnant, none of my old summer clothes come close to fitting.
I ended up squeezing into a stretchy pencil shirt and shirt (both pre-pregnancy items). Thinking I looked pretty good, I headed to the coffee shop, ordered my drink, and made a pit stop in the bathroom. That’s when I caught sight of myself in the mirror (we don’t own a full-length). Holy stuffed sausage. I was BUSTING OUT of my clothes. Everywhere. Boobs, thighs, butt, and bump.
So I did what I’ve been avoiding for weeks… I went maternity shopping.
You see, I hate shopping for all types of clothing – but maternity is definitely up there in hatred. Thankfully, I convinced a friend to come with me, which made the experience much more pleasant. And guess what I found?
I found a killer maternity tee. One that actually fits in all the relevant places, doesn’t squeeze my bra line in the back, and is actually -gasp! – flattering. And… it’s cheap. $12 each if you buy 2. It’s the Short Sleeve Scoop Neck Maternity T Shirt from Motherhood Maternity. I bought it in four colors, two small and two medium (so I have room to grow).
If you hate maternity shopping as much I as do, but are looking for a nice basic summer tee, definitely check out this one!
