Throw a Gender Reveal Party (AKA Sex Party)

Reveal your baby's sex at a Gender Reveal Party

One of the newest trends for expecting couples is the Gender Reveal Party, also known as a sex party.

What is a Gender Reveal Party?

A Gender Reveal or a Sex Party is a party typically thrown by the expecting parents to announce what the gender of their baby is.

At the 20 week gender finding ultrasound rather than finding out the baby’s sex, have the Ultrasound Tech  put the baby’s gender on a piece of paper. The envelope goes to the bakery who will create you a cake. The cake will be iced and decorated gender neutral, but the cake itself, or the cake’s icing will be whatever your baby’s sex is (typically, blue boy – and pink girl).

Fast forward, throw a party.  Gather friends and family and have them wear pink if they think the baby’s a girl. Or wear blue, if they think the baby’s a boy. Cut into the cake and find out your baby’s gender.

Typically, gifts are not expected or asked for – because, yes, there is still a baby shower to attend closer to the baby’s arrival.
