We all know Gwen Stefani makes more than cute babies—and stylish ones, at that. The famed singer-songwriter and front lady for “No Doubt” wasn’t the first celebrity to dive into the fashion world, but she was one of the first to do it well (in my opinion), creating successful brands with both Harajuku Lovers and her higher-end L.A.M.B. collections.
Now the hollaback girl is spinning out a new line called Harajuku Mini for Target, designed specifically for babies and children, set to release at the big-box retailer this November and again in January 2012 according to WWD. Ranging in price from $3.99 – $29.99, (a far cry from the $300 price tags on L.A.M.B. pieces I see at Nordstrom), Stefani calls the”A dream come true,” and says it will be “inspired by the supercute and playful kids clothing you find in Japan.” Anime, anyone?
Though I wouldn’t say our sensibilities are similar, I think Gwen is a legitimate designer and she’s got style to spare. Sometimes I find myself tempted to pick up a piece of her for $300. But if I can pick up a little piece of Kingston or Zuma for $29 (at most), even better.
Come November 12, I’m guessing Target stores will be b-a-n-a-n-a-s. Anyone looking forward to the release?
