Healthier Babies: Vaccinated or Unvaccinated?

This post doesn’t attempt to answer the question of whether babies are better off getting vaccinated or not, as I personally have no idea. I’ve read articles and studies that support both sides of this issue, and — to be honest — I’m completely torn on the subject. Both sides make really good cases for the yeas and nays of vaccinations, so I’m wondering what real-world moms think about the topic and what led you to the decision to vaccinate or not vaccinate.

See what other moms say and share your story after the jump.

Some people claim it’s negligent to let your baby go vaccine-free, and the Center for Disease Control (CDC) warns that not vaccinating your child puts other children at risk. Yet the same organization, the CDC, admittedly reports that such toxins as mercury and formaldehyde are vaccine ingredients, and both chemicals have been linked to autism. Even LiveSTRONG, a partner of the much-respected Lance Armstrong Foundation, has views that conflict with LiveScience.

With so much controversy surrounding vaccinating versus not vaccinating, it’s no wonder I feel torn. So what’s a mother to do? What did you do? How did you make your decision and are you happy with it? I’m a firm believer in “mother knows best,” so help me out here and share your experience.
