Healthy Pregnancy Super Foods Giveaway!

Several months ago, I wrote a book called Healthy Pregnancy Super Foods.  I’d read many different books on pregnancy nutrition and found them confusing…or even flat-out wrong.  Many recommend low-fat diets (not that smart; see my post on why you shouldn’t skip the fat).  Many ask you to eat “4 servings of this, 8 servings of that, 2 servings of that other thing…”  Some ask you to count through the yellow foods, orange foods, green foods, protein foods….

Enough already!

When you’re pregnant, worried about your baby’s health, exhausted, and probably nauseous, all of that seems completely insurmountable.  How can you keep track of it all?  How can you really eat all those things everyday (and without getting sick)?  Then there’s the worry that if you don’t follow the plan, you’re somehow going to damage your baby.

But there has to be a better way….

That’s why I created Healthy Pregnancy Super Foods.  There is a better way.  I’m *really* a real (or, traditional) food blogger.  That is what my primary blog is largely about, and it’s a topic I’ve spent quite a lot of time studying.  I kept running across all these lists of “super foods,” and all these lists of “things pregnant women should eat,” and “nutrients pregnant women need,” and I kept seeing similar themes.

So Healthy Pregnancy Super Foods was born.  In it, there’s a list of super foods, chosen because they have so many excellent nutrients in them.  There’s a list of “sneaky ways to eat” some of the less-than-favorite ones (creamed spinach with liver and onions, anyone?  Didn’t think so!).  And then there are the recipes….
