How I Told Serge

By Monica Bielanko |

Let’s step back in time, shall we?  Come on!  Let’s go!

When I found out I was pregnant with Violet I immediately snapped the photo to the left and then ran around the house alternately laughing and crying.

Then, hands shaking, mind racing, I rushed out to Barnes & Noble and bought What To Expect When You’re Expecting and taped the positive pregnancy test to the front. I wrapped it and waited until Serge got home from work to give him his gift.

I think he knew something was up when I started recording him opening a gift I decided to give him out of the blue.  He cried, it was really sweet.

And then I accidentally deleted the video.

I found out I was pregnant with our second child the night before Father’s Day.  I wrapped the positive test in a box and then wrapped it again, just to mess with him then presented it to him the next day as his Father’s Day gift. This timing was a happy accident as I had no idea what I was going to give him.  Can’t really top making him a father a second time around on Father’s Day, can you?

This time I managed not to delete the video and he had no clue what was coming as it wasn’t really that weird for me to record him opening a Father’s Day gift.

You can check it out after the jump.

Why would you put an intimate moment like this on youtube? Just telling the story is really enough in this case.

  2. Nessie says:

Thank you for sharing! I loved watching the video (if a picture is worth a thousand words, a video is worth at least ten thousand!).

  3. Megg says:

Awsome! I love that moment when he first sees it, eyes smiling, and understands immediately!
