Despite announcing on the red carpet the night before her due date last week that she was “terrified” to give birth, Ivanka Trump made it happen.
The older daughter of real estate mogul Donald Trump and husband Jared Kushner welcomed their first child, a baby girl, on Sunday morning in New York City.
“This morning [Jared] and I welcomed a beautiful and healthy little baby girl into the world,” Trump, 29, announced via Twitter. “We feel incredibly grateful and blessed. Thank you all for your support and well wishes!”
The couple has been married since October 2009.
Trump took the pregnancy in stride, saying she tried not to think about labor.
“My breathing exercises are going to come in the form of screams and panic,” she joked to People magazine. “I have enough anxiety about the type of mother I’m going to be and the nuances of being a parent. I haven’t focused too much on the actual delivery part, which is seriously terrifying.”
The new mom also said a few months ago that she has “meetings on the calendar” two weeks after her due date, so presumably the unknown nuances of parenting could remain unknown for a while.
