There’s no shortage of creative ways to announce a pregnancy, but not everyone can do it from the stage of a concert.
That’s how singer Lauryn Hill revealed she’s going to be a mom for the sixth time. Speaking to fans at a concert on Saturday night in Detroit’s Chene Park, the former Fugees star told the crowd, “I’m going to be taking time off to give birth.”
She was wearing a striped dress that didn’t hide her baby bump.
Hill and her boyfriend, Rohan Marley, along with with their kids Zion, 14, Selah, 13, Joshua, 9, John, 8, and Sarah, 3, will greet the newest member of their family later this year.
Two months earlier Hill joked at a concert that she’s the most fertile woman in America. At the Coachelle music festival in April, there were rumors floating around that she was pregnant when her stomach seemed rounder than usual.
After Hill left the wildly successful Fugees, she released a solo album, The Mis-Education of Lauryn Hill, which earned her five Grammy awards in 1998. A second solo album has been greatly anticipated, but has yet to materialize. She returned to performing last year.
