Neroli Oil: More Than Coca-Cola's Secret Ingredient

Neroli, Bitter Orange, Coca Cola RecipeNeroli is an exotic essential oil made from bitter orange blossoms. Neroli has a citrusy scent and flavor and is often used in perfumes.   In fact, it’s estimated that Neroli is the main ingredient in more than 12% of all perfumes. It’s also, according to This American Life, a surprising ingredient in Coca Cola’s secret recipe—along with Cinnamon, Coriander and Cumin.

Besides smelling and tasting absolutely amazing, Neroli oil has some purported health benefits.Neroli is non-toxic, non-irritant, non-sensitizing, and non-photo toxic.  And Neroli is one of the few essential oils that are actually recommended during pregnancy. In fact,  according to a UK aromatherapy site: “If there is one time to use neroli, it is in pregnancy!”
