New Babbler on the Block
Hi! My name is Lauren Hartmann and I am the new blogger on the block here at Babble and so excited to be a part of this fabulous team of bloggers! Since I’ll be here spilling my guts over the coming months about all the ups and downs of my very first pregnancy, I figured I should probably share a little bit more about myself.
I am a preschool teacher and wardrobe stylist living in Portland, Oregon with my husband Craig and our German Shepherd Marley. When I’m not blogging here I write about our little life over at my blog The Little Things We Do.
Read more after the jump….
My husband I are incredibly excited to be having our first little bundle of joy, due in January. Up to this point in life, we’ve only had a fur baby, but it can’t be that much different than having a kid, right? Haha! I’m sure all the mom’s out there just gave me a good eye roll. I actually know a lot about children, having spent my entire working life with them, but now that I’m pregnant I’m realizing just how very little I know about babies and pregnancy. But, I guess there’s no better time to find out!
Regardless of this minor detail (you know….the knowing nothing about babies detail) I’ve been learning a lot over these past 11 weeks and am continuing to learn as I go (thanks interweb!). I look forward to sharing my experiences with you and learning more from the other great bloggers here as well as all of you readers. Feel free to shower me with advice – I’m a sponge! I hope you’re ready to laugh along with me as I figure out this journey of pregnancy! Hope you have a great weekend!

Hi Lauren, welcome to Babble
I’m 27 weeks pregnant (!!) which makes me due October 1st. Time has flown by so quickly, so prepare for that. At least that’s how it has felt to me. Looking forward to reading more about you and your growing family.
Good morning Lauren. I am so excited to be a part of this wonderful journey of your pregnancy. I’ve never been a grandma before, but I think I am going to find out soon enough, and I know that I am going to love it! I feel very blessed to have the opportunity to be the grandmother of your children, how exciting is this?! VERY EXCITING!
You guys are free to babysit anytime…ya know, to give you more knowledge about babies. They say immersion is the best teacher right?
PS: yay for your first post!!!
@Paulina Thanks for the encouraging words. Currently time seems to be dragging for me, but I’ve heard it speeds up, and according to your account it seems to be true, so I’ll ready myself
.
@Ana Marie Thanks mom

Actually, having a dog is a good gateway experience to becoming a parent, especially is it’s a high maintenance dog…the kind you have to pay lots of attention to and that you have to think about often whether you’re there or not.
@Danielle Unfortunately my dog is quite possibly the easiest dog that ever lived. She immediately slept through the night and was crate trained and potty trained within the first week we had her. Maybe I’m screwed – haha!
I’m so excited to follow along with you here on Babble!!! Congratulations on your pregnancy!!

Hi Lauren! I’m due in January too! It will be exciting to have a blogger on here that is going through the same milestones. I look forward to your posts!
Raising a dog is a great way to learn each other’s parenting styles before a baby is in the works
! You are such a fantastic teacher and a few rotations to the baby room will give you confidence in no time!
Congratulations Lauren, so excited for you and Craig! Cant wait to follow you along this journey here on babble! xo
