Babble Best Picks: Maternity Jeans

There are many different brands and styles of maternity jeans, each with its own philosophy on how to comfortably cradle you and your growing belly during pregnancy. So how do you know which pairs are worth purchasing? If you're like me and do most of your shopping online, ordering maternity jeans sight unseen can be quite difficult. So, I'm here to help you narrow down your search. As a self-proclaimed fashionista who's gone through two pregnancies, I've picked the best maternity jeans in the hopes of saving you countless hours of online research. If I've left out your favorite pair, be sure to pay it forward and share your recommendations in the comments - or nominate it here! - Stevee Curtis

I adore me some skinny jeans, and if they’ve got a little stretch, even better. These maternity jeans are made with 2 percent spandex so that they’re almost like a jegging, and über comfortable. True to the 7 For All Mankind style, you are sure to feel sexy when you slip and zip into these designer jeans – and when you’re pregnant, some days that is worth a pretty penny. The 30″ inseam hits just below the ankle, so you can wear ‘em with just about any shoe type: cute little flats, wedges, heels, or boots.

Like with most maternity jeans, perhaps the most important feature on this pair is the belly flap. The lightweight, full-panel flap grows with your belly and can be worn up and over your baby bump or folded down and worn underneath. This means you can purchase these jeans the minute you find out you’re pregnant and continue to wear them after the baby arrives. Who am I kidding … my second baby is now four months old, and I’m still wearing my 7s. That’s how much I cherish them.

As a plus size gal, I found shockingly cute, comfy plus size maternity jeans at Kmart. Of course, that was 4 years ago.

I agree with the 7′s! I put them on when I was 6 months pregnant and cried because they looked so good and I was feeling so bad.
