Top 50 Pregnancy Essentials

like

When asked to compile a list of the 50 most essential items for pregnancy, I was about
39 weeks pregnant and ready to pop with my second baby. Having gone through two pregnancies pretty much back-to-back and feeling like I had been pregnant for two years straight, it wasn't too hard to compile this list simply because these are all items that were extremely useful to me. I hope they prove useful to you, as well. If I've left out an item that you loved or found to be essential during your pregnancy, make sure to tell us here. - Stevee Curtis

The Happiest Baby On the Block

While I was pregnant with my first, I bought way too many parenting books. I started reading a few, then got really overwhelmed. Trying to decide what kind of parent I was going to be based on the mounds of books I bought began to seem futile. However, one book I read during pregnancy did come in handy after I gave birth: The Happiest Baby on the Block by Harvey Karp. Karp believes there is a “fourth trimester,” where a baby has to learn how to adjust to the new world they are in. Karp has tips from ways to soothe a fussy baby to positions you can put them in to help re-create the womb. I found this book to be really helpful, and it calmed many of my pregnancy worries. Also, this book comes in DVD form. With a husband that doesn’t like to read, the DVD was perfect. Buy it from Amazon
