SAG Award Winners 2011: Natalie Portman!!!

Congratulations Natalie Portman! She just won the Screen Actor’s Guild Award for outstanding performance of an actress in a lead role. Portman, who is having quite a glam second trimester, thanked Black Swan director Darren Aronofsky, her parents, and her fiance Benjamin Millepied. She was especially grateful to the SAG union for “protecting” her and helping give her an education.

She looked glowing and gorgeous in a full-length, white jersey gown designed by Vanessa Seward for Azzaro. Azzaro is perhaps most famous for disco-era glamorous gowns. All I can say that it’s genius that she got to wear jersey to an awards show. She also got to wear $ 2 million worth of Tiffany jewels taking the idea that every pregnant woman is carrying precious cargo to a whole new level.

“She’ll be an amazing mom,” said Black Swan director Darren Aronofsky speaking at the Director’s Guild Awards last night, “Because she’s very organized. She’s very considerate. She’s feeling. She’ll be amazing.”

Regarding  Portman and Millepied’s on-set romance, Aronofsky said,  “I don’t know where their chemistry starts or ends. I’m just happy it worked out. And it’s nice, [because] I introduced them. I didn’t introduce them for that! But I introduced them to work together.”

Meanwhile Portman is just trying to keep a level head. “I’m just trying to be calm!” she told UsMagazine.com at the Director’s Guild Award. She attended the awards show with Aronofsky in Aldo heels and a Michael Kors dress:  “There’s so much going on, I’ll just try not to trip at any point! I’m trying to protect my future child.”
