Sarah Palin To Be A Grandma Again

Big-time abstinence preacher, Sarah Palin, has yet another kid who has sex out of wedlock.
GASP!
Turns out, Palin is set to be a grandma for the second time and it’s going to happen any day now.
As the Daily Mail reports, Palin’s 22-year-old son, Track, and his wife are expecting their first child very soon.
Track married his high school sweetheart, 21-year-old Britta Hanson two months ago in Alaska. A friend of Hanson posted pictures of what appears to be her baby shower on her Facebook account. Hanson is heavily pregnant and holding up tiny baby clothes she received as gifts.
Britta’s conservative mother-in-law, former U.S. Republican vice-presidential candidate Sarah Palin, has famously advocated that schools teach teenagers to abstain from sex before marriage. Wonder if Sarah will ever reconsider and advocate for sex education instead? You know, like how to use birth control and stuff?
This is the second Palin kid to get pregnant out of wedlock. I’m certain I don’t need to remind you about Bristol and her high school “sweetheart”, Levi Johnston. Bristol, 20, got pregnant at 17 – during her mother’s run for Vice-President of the United States – and had a baby Tripp with Johnston in December, 2008.
Regardless of my feelings about Sarah Palin, I wish the young couple nothing but happiness. Track spent a year with the Army in Iraq as a reservist before the wedding; Britta, the daughter of a minister, is a University of Alaska nursing student. I hope the kids can really make a go of it.
What a model American family! Everything that comes out of their mouths is scripted and paid for by your tax dollars. We don’t need the White House as reality television. Please let her hang up any hopes of running and just keep selling her image- the way her family is, she needs to be on the cover of Hustler, not Newsweek. Well a parent can not force here children to live by her standards or beliefs. She can love and teach them but isn’t responsable for their actions as adults. As a parent I feel disturbed that anyone would do this to her. I think it is just another way for the media to try to make her look bad. Did she have a baby lately out of wedlock or have an affair or an abortion? I want to know about her. Not her children.

I’m not particularly concerned with what this says about the Palins (really, I could give a crap). What I am concerned with is what this says about “abstinence only” and “values” education. If the kids of someone who’s obsessed with sexual morality are still merrily fornicating out of wedlock, it would seem to me that it’s clear that regardless of what authority figures teach, young people are going to do what they’re going to do. Regardless of what you think people “should” do, trying to teach them “morality” DOESN’T WORK. And our tax dollars are being wasted on it.
