I cannot tell a lie: It was really hard not to leave the house in sweats today.
I’m already at that point. I still have two months to go, and yet, getting dressed and attempting to look decent–let alone put-together–is getting more and more difficult. Like the 17-year-old of my past, I find myself whining “I have nothing to wear!” and throwing my body dramatically on the bed. (On my back, of course. Well, it’s more of a sit-and-lean-back action, actually.) Really, I’m just finding myself too tired/discouraged to make the effort.
When the going gets tough, I go to Pinterest. (You’ll find me here.) I’ve found a few “maternity style” boards to follow, and I’ll share one of my first favorites today.I like getting ideas on how to put a pregnancy spin on something I already have, and it’s also good for me to see other pregnant women making an attempt to look good. It’s a challenge for me, but taking the time and energy to look presentable does wonders for my self-esteem, especially during pregnancy and the nursing stage, when my body does anything but “bounce back.” (I loathe that term, for the record. Hello, pressure.)
