Stephanie Nielson of NieNie Dialogues Announces Miracle Pregnancy

Christian and Stephanie Nielson

She survived a horrific plane crash three years ago that burned most of her body, badly injured her husband and killed the pilot.

Because nearly 80% of Stephanie Nielson’s body was so badly burned, requiring what must be hundreds of surgeries and skin grafts, doctors weren’t sure if her body could handle being pregnant.

But, as anyone who reads her popular blog, NieNie Dialogues knows, Stephanie lives for being a mom and has made no secret of her desire for a huge family. And the feisty Utahn isn’t one to let a plane crash get in the way of fulfilling her dreams.

She recently made the big announcement on her blog:

Today, three years later, I am changing-physically, and emotionally.
My children are thriving and growing strong.
Our belief in God’s plan for us is enhanced.
And to top it all off, I am pregnant.
Yes, you heard me…pregnant!!!!!
Miracles happen, I am one, my husband is one, and together we have made one.

I am so excited I can barely keep my lunch down…literally!
Welcome to the world baby Nielson #5!!

If you haven’t read Stephanie’s blog I urge you to do so. To witness a human being’s courage in the face of such a debilitating accident, an accident that would leave others huddled in bed bemoaning their fate, Stephanie’s outlook is an inspiration.

Stephanie is an inspiration around the world, not only because of her positive attitude in the face of such adversity, but for being the kind of mom most of us aspire to be.

Congratulations to the Nielson family! This baby is very lucky to have such fantastic parents.

Stephanie Nielson is one of Babble’s top 50 Mom Blogs. Who else made the list?
