Super Bowl Food: How Do Crockpot Honey BBQ Wings Sound?

Who’s playing in the Super Bowl tomorrow? Ok… I’m not that bad. I know it’s the Steelers and the Packers, but I have to admit, I’m not that into football. That said, I am looking forward to the game tomorrow, and more importantly, to all the Super Bowl food. It’s the perfect occasion to cook, have friends over, and to eat. That’s a win win in my book. Thankfully, I don’t have to be alone in my Super Bowl food guilt. My pregnant girlfriend and her husband are joining us for all the gameday excitement, and I know she will chow down with me.

So, what Super Bowl foods am I whipping up tomorrow? I’m sticking with the known traditional gameday goodies. Honey BBQ wings, pizza, potato skins, and guacamole dip are a few of the snacks on the menu.

Are you looking for some Super Bowl food ideas for tomorrow? Allow me to share my incredibly easy Crockpot Honey BBQ Wings recipe with you. Continue reading to get the full Crockpot Honey BBQ Wings recipe.

I’m sorry I don’t have a picture tutorial to share, but nonetheless, here is my Crockpot Honey BBQ Wings recipe…

Ingredients:

3 lbs. chicken wings (16 wings)

1 1/2 cups of any variety of traditional barbecue sauce

1/4 cup honey

2 tsp. spicy mustard

2 tsp. Worcestershire sauce

2 cloves minced garlic

salt and pepper

Tabasco to take (optional)

Step 1- Chicken Wings

Rise your chicken and pat it dry. Then, cut off and toss wing tips. Once tips are cut off, cut each wing at the joint to make two sections. Now, go ahead and place your chicken wings on a baking sheet and salt and pepper them. Place your baking sheet in your oven. Broil each side of your chicken wings for ten minutes. Once broiled on each side, put them in your crockpot.

Step 2- Honey Bar-B-Que Sauce

Combine barbecue sauce, honey, spicy mustard, Worcestershire sauce, minced garlic, salt, pepper, and Tabasco sauce in a bowl. Once it’s all mixed together, pour over the chicken wings in the crockpot. Now, go ahead and toss your chicken so it’s coated in the sauce.

Step 3- Cook Chicken Wings

Cover your chicken and cook on high for two to two and half hours. Once cooked, serve directly from your crockpot!

Who do you want to win the Super Bowl? Steelers or Packers?
