I’ve been sharing my story about my road to motherhood on Babble for 11 months now. A lot has happened in that time. As I begin now to embark on my third IVF cycle after having lost my twin pregnancy at 17 weeks, I can’t help but reflect on what the past almost-year has brought — and hasn’t brought — into my life.
I’ve met some amazing people along the way. Women who have shared stories with me about their own losses and struggles — stories that have helped me realize I will get through this. There have been a few haters that poke their ugly heads into the loving life of a lesbian blogger who simply wants to become a mother, but I pay them no mind. And, truth be told, the amount of love that I’ve received from total strangers far outweighs the negative.
It’s been a journey, to say the least. And it’s not even close to being over. I thank my lucky stars that I have Babble — and you — to stand by me as I navigate through this wild and crazy baby-making experience.
It’s been one heck of a ride…
In case anyone is thinking this is some sort of Babble promotion, no one has asked me to write this. I came up with it all by my big-girl self.

People Share Their Pregnancy News With Me Before They Tell Others! 1 of 5Not only have I heard an outpouring of stories about other women's pregnancy losses, but so many friends have confided in me that they're pregnant before they "make it public." It's so cool to be in the know. I smile and think, "I knew that" when the news finally hits Facebook.
The Support Staff is AWESOME! 2 of 5Um, you'd be amazed how much goes into the smooth sailing of this website. Before I started writing for Babble, I knew so little about the back-end of how to create such an awesome online community, and let me tell you: The work the people do at Babble Headquarters is nothing short of amazing. Talk about a rock-star staff! By the way. This picture? Totally not them.
