The 8 Best Wacky & Weird Ways to Announce Your Baby's Birth

Wacky & weird birth announcements via Babble.comI was one of those bad people who did not send out any birth announcement cards. For some reason they seem to be expected for us to send out after our baby is fresh and in the world. I was all “whatever, I just had a baby.. I don’t have time for this” and I still don’t feel guilty about it… new moms don’t need that on their plate too.

Most of the announcements I have seen over the years are all the same. A fresh-out-of-mom photo of the baby, their name, birth weight and date of birth. All pretty standard and well, the exact same. If I were to ever send out birth announcements (let’s be real, that won’t happen), I would try and find a more creative way to do it. Whether that be a more graphically appealing card or something way out there — there are far better ways that will make your new baby stand out.

Click through to see 8 wonderfully weird and wacky ways to announce the birth of your baby:

  • Do It Like the Celebrities 1 of 8
    Do It Like the Celebrities
I guess this only works if you're super famous, but put your photo and all the details in a huge magazine with a large publication. Get paid for it too -- more than most people will make in 10 years.

  • Bubble Gum Cigar 2 of 8
    Bubble Gum Cigar
Gone are the days of sharing real cigars to celebrate the birth of a child. Those are too dangerous. Far better to share sugar sticks for those very few times you're celebrating the birth of a kid.

  • A Onsie for Your Baby 3 of 8
    A Onsie for Your Baby
In case your baby was totally asleep for the whole thing... But it would make a cute announcement if you took a photo of the babe wearing this and sent that out.

  • Rock Music Poster 4 of 8
    Rock Music Poster
If you're too ashamed or worried or not organized enough to have a photo of your child ready to share, then this cartoon-style announcment is probably best
Want it? Buy it from: Rattle-n-Roll
  • Movie Star 5 of 8
    Movie Star
It's far better than the typical birth photo announcement and if you're a diva or you expect your child to be one, this is probably perfect.
Want it? Buy it from: Babynounce
  • Get Him Licensed 6 of 8
    Get Him Licensed
I have a hard time seeing what the actual point is, but hey ... if you can do it , why not. It's cute and different.

  • Print it on a Pillow 7 of 8
    Print it on a Pillow
You know, because why not? Not sure if this is just to announce to yourself, or if you take a picture of the pillow and send to your friends? It's a cute keepsake though.

  • Epic YouTube Video 8 of 8
    Epic YouTube Video
This parent has talent and it's the perfect way to share the news with their equally nerdy Star Wars Friends.
