The Birth Survey

Don’t you wish there was a place online where you could look up your provider, and the hospital you plan to give birth at, and see what other patients of his/her’s has to say?

How was their birthing experience, were they treated properly, all those things we would want to hear from our closest girlfriend to help our choice in providers, and facility to birth in…

Well, you are in luck because there is a website like this, and you can even leave your own survey on a facility and provider if you have given birth in the last three years!

Starting back in 2006, the survey originated polling and helping mothers in New York City but expanded nationwide in April of 2008.

On their website, they share the goal of the project as:

Our goal is to give women a mechanism that can be used to share information about maternity care practices in their community while at the same time providing practitioners and institutions feedback for quality of care improvement efforts.

But why is this really that important to birthing women in America?

As time goes on, many online websites with rating and ranking systems for American obstetric providers have come under attack by the medical community, and in many cases have been taken down completely, leaving women without a resource to look into, and truly research their provider. A right all women have before making the choice to settle on prenatal care with a certain provider.

For more information, or to fill out the survey yourself, you can visit or check out their new facebook page!
