The New Girl: Another Blogger in the Fold

I thought I’d make my first post an introduction to the faithful Babble readership. I’m an eight-year Brooklyn resident who has spent nearly three of those years raising my son Devin with my husband Dennis. I’ve gone through several big changes lately. I recently lost my nine-year job as a writer and editor at an online travel and entertainment site. I’m about to put my son in several day a week daycare to afford the time to advance my freelancing career. I just turned 35. Oh, yeah, and I’m pregnant again (10 weeks today). Although the changes have shaken me, they’ve also piqued my interest in the future, which is really what having children is all about.

I’m excited to jump into the Babble community, although this is my second time as a Babble contributor. The first was as a blogger with the site’s now defunct Droolicious blog. At Droolicious, I had a blast sifting through the best and most stylish baby gear as I was gearing up for the birth of my son. I’m sure my perspective will be a bit different the second time around, but I expect the wonder and excitement to remain the same.
