I have been thinking a lot about what name we would like to have on our “maybe” list for when we get pregnant again. We love names that are unique and try to find names that are not on any popular baby name list.
So far, we’ve been able to do that and when/if we add another child to our family (or two), I’d like to make sure we stick with that theme. Baby name popularity changes a lot over the years, but there are some names that seem to stick to the list year-after-year. According to Nameberry statistics, there are some new names that have risen in popularity quite a bit compared to the year before. So far, they’re quite popular for 2013. We’ll have to see what the rest of the year brings.

Top Baby Names, So Far 1 of 8The year is not even half over and already some baby name trends are starting to form.
Marlowe 2 of 8A gorgeous old-school sounding name, this name is on the rise for 2013. It's the name of Sienna Miller's new daughter and it's too pretty not to have people talking.
Christian 3 of 8I guess we have the steamy books Fifty Shades of Grey to thank for this up-rise. It's not an unusual name, but given the popularity of the Grey book series, it seems people are taking inspiration from there.
Nelly 4 of 8There's a pop singer and a rapper by this name and thanks to Kourtney Kardashian, this name is becoming more popular. It's the nickname she calls her daughter Penelope, and Nelly alone is on the rise.
Mavis 5 of 8If you've seen the movie Hotel Transylvania you will know where the inspiration for this name came from. She's the lovable girl in the movie and it's just an all-around cute name.
Thor 6 of 8Personally, I don't think this is a cute name for a child, but I can't knock the mythological names. According to Nameberry, this name is up 200% from the previous year.
Severine 7 of 8I personally, love this name and if it wasn't on this popularity list, I would consider it for a girl. It's made it's mark since it's the name of the latest Bond girl in the new movie. It's pretty and unique and that's why I love it.
Finnegan 8 of 8Often shortened to "Finn" this traditional Irish name is making noise this year. I wonder if it's inspired by the Ireland themed Disney Movie Brave. Either way, it's a cute name for a boy and other people must agree.
