Traveling With Morning Sickness

I am getting on an airplane this afternoon to go visit my family in Florida. Usually I am very excited about these trips, as I haven’t seen my family in a long time. Today I dread the flight home because it seems that my morning sickness is at it’s worst.

When I got pregnant I knew that my morning sickness would last far beyond the first trimester, I was sick with my first for seven months, so it was inevitable that I would be just as sick with this one. What I didn’t realize that it would be about ten times worse with no relief in sight.

For the past couple of days my morning sickness has left me nearly bedridden and hardly able to keep any food down. Other than the constant pain in my stomach, my body feels great, so I know it isn’t a stomach virus. I woke up this morning with some relief but there is still that feeling in the pit of my stomach. Knowing I have to get on a plane this evening with my daughter  and still feeling this sick makes me incredible nervous.

I’ve never flown on a plane before feeling this sick. Not going is not an option for us at this point, so I am going to have to suck it up and hope for the best.  I’ve tried to prepare myself as much as I can at this point. I’ve packed my crackers, will get a ginger-ale as soon as I can, and have packed my medicine. I’ve got an aisle seat and know I’m not too far from the restroom if necessary. And of course there is always the sick bag stored in the seat back pocket in front of me.

I’m hoping that all of these will just be precautionary and I won’t actually have to use most of them.  I would love for any advice that you have on how to combat this the best while travelling. This sick mama is in desperate need of some relief!

Have you ever travelled with morning sickness?
