Uber Realistic Silicone Baby Mold: Cute or Creepy?Ceridwen Morris
I remember visiting Switzerland once and staying in a little, rustic chalet in the Alps. In the lobby of the Inn, facing the check-in desk, was a bassinet with a very realistic baby doll swaddled inside of it. It was just sitting there beside a magazine rack and under the requisite Cuckoo clock. I thought it was the most peculiar hotel lobby decor I’d ever seen.
This silicone baby mold reminds me of that bizarre lobby scenario. I’m sort of horrified and intrigued at the same time. If John Waters had a baby shower, I’m sure he’d want a cake festooned with these little critters. And they are little, too, measuring only 5 inches from head to rump. You can fill them with soap, chocolate and all manner of other things. Here are some bigger pics. So real! So lifeless!
The silicone baby mold is made by a company called First Impressions Molds.
It retails for $14.25 at Amazon.com.
