Update: PETA Angers the Infertility Community

PETA (People for the Ethical Treatment of Animals) has removed all association between their vasectomy promotion and NIAW (National Infertility Awareness Week).

Since I wrote about this story earlier this week (you can read that post here), PETA changed the wording in their “Win a Vasectomy” campaign to read “in honor of” to “during” NIAW, which did little to assuage the anger of the infertility community.

By Friday evening, PETA completely backed down and removed all references to NIAW from their website.

Keiko Zoll, who worked diligently toward this goal, promptly posted a video in which she called this a “tremendous victory” and followed up with an open letter of thanks to PETA.
