What's the Top Baby Name of the Future?

Naming a baby can be tough. A lot tougher than my husband and I ever imagined. I’ve mentioned our incredible struggle to find the perfect name for our second daughter. Unfortunately, with a little more than a month before my due date, we are still searching.

Due to the huge constraint that I really want a family name for her (our daughter, Harlan, was named after my mother-in-law’s maiden name,) it leaves us with little room for our search.

One of my favorite things to do is search baby name websites to look for her middle name (there are no constraints on that.) It’s so exciting to see what the new name trends are and just how far people will go for a unique name for their child. I’ve always tried to stay away from the more popular names of the year as I don’t want my child to be one of the many with the same name, but I do love checking out the trends for top names.

HuffPost Parents is running an exciting contest that let’s you decide the top baby name of the future!  They’ve teamed up with Nameberry, a popular baby name site, to narrow 16 popular names for each gender down to the reader’s favorite.

It’s so easy to cast your vote for your favorite. They’ve even done the hard part for you and paired the names by sound or theme. Just choose the name in each pair that you like best. They’ve reached round three with only four names for each gender left. After you vote it shows you the current standing of each name and even lets you share your vote with your friends on Facebook.

Did your favorite baby name make the cut?
