If ever it was appropriate to give a kid one of those Christmas names like Noelle and Joy or Gabriel and Joseph, I’m thinking this is the time.
As ABC news reports, an Australian woman was wrapping presents in her home near Hobart when she went into labor. An ambulance was called but by the time crews arrived the baby was pretty much already there. Talk about the ultimate gift under the Christmas tree.
“I would assume the patient was in labour to a point where delivery was imminent and rather than being able to move to the ambulance to proceed to hospital, they had to deliver the baby at the house,” Bruce Connor from the Tasmanian Ambulance Service tells ABC.
The woman gave birth just after midnight, smack dab in the middle of both Christmas Eve and Christmas Day. Mom and baby are said to be doing well. But that isn’t even the best part of the story. The paramedic who helped deliver the baby girl was sporting something extra special… A pair of reindeer antlers.
No word on the little girl’s name yet. But I’m thinking Merry just might do the trick in this instance?
Going into labor while wrapping gifts and then giving birth under the Christmas tree on Christmas day by a person wearing reindeer antlers? Man, what a great story.
