Becoming a mother for the first time is the most life-changing and trans-formative things to happen to a woman in her life. It definitely was for me back in 2007 when I became a mother for the first time. I read every parenting book, took classes, and absorbed every ounce of information possible in preparation for becoming a mother.
Truth is, NOTHING could really prepare me for what was about to happen.
During this [my second] pregnancy, I’ve been much more laid-back about the arrival of our new family member and I remember telling my sister this weekend “If only I knew then what I know now.”
Nursing bra maker, Nummies, went out and asked moms “If they could go back to right before they had their first child what would they tell themselves?” Their answers might surprise you and they be exactly what you need to hear right now.
I would tell my pregnant self “Your body will never look the same, but you’ll appreciate it so much more.”
Moms, what would your sign read?
