Some games never go out of style, even if they get a lot more fun to play on our iPad. We like Tic Tac Toe Free’s retro chalkboard design and one-player option (a lifesaver in grocery lines), as well as the ability to undo moves before we regret them. Recent updates and integration with Apple’s Game Center have also added network play, so when we get tired of beating the kids, we can compete against up to 16 challengers from our Game Center friends list or face-off against random opponents. In-game advertisements allow this one to be free (the ad-free version is $1.99), but the game’s developers have done a nice job of pushing the ads out of view.
