For years, I would scour magazines looking for the best of the best in d'cor, fashion and lifestyle for kids. No wonder I'm a bit blog-obsessed. There's simply no better, more efficient or prettier way to score amazing finds than via mom-owned and mom-run Design Blogs.
As the co-founder of Mamaista.com, a blogger for Babble's Family Style blog, and a former magazine editor, I like to think I know a thing or two about what qualifies as good design. So when Babble.com asked me to pick a list of the top 50 design blogs, I was excited, to say the least. While it's hard to whittle the best 50 and rank them in order of fabulosity (and of course, we can't forget our own Family Style blog), I think this list gives you a taste of the amazing range. Design Mom is a blog that doesn’t need much introduction, having just been voted one of the top 50 websites of the year by Time magazine. (Yes, it’s that good.) If you’re a fan of unique housewarming gifts, beautiful birth announcements, and gifts that are exactly what you’ve been looking for, prepare to waste the day away scouring through this charming site that will make you feel majorly inspired.

Gabrielle Blair is a major force in the blogging community (and fellow Family Style blogger!), as well as the co-founder of Kirtsy, the online mom community known as “Digg for chicks.” She also raises a major question: “How do you stay so chic, stylish, and design-forward while raising six kids?” We’re in awe.
