Babble Best Picks: Baby Bottles

Though new to the world, babies are surprisingly opinionated about which bottles and nipples they agree to - often without rhyme or reason. In the end, the best bottle is the one that your babe agrees to latch on to. We've made your job a little easier and saved you some trial-and-error time by narrowing down the best baby bottles out there, from glass bottles to best for preemies. Don't see the bottle your baby loves? Nominate your favorite here. - Kate Bayless

Dr. Brown’s BPA-free bottles (available in 2-, 4- or 8-oz.), paired with Dr. Brown’s Preemie Silicone Nipples (one of the only ones on the market), provide an ideal feeding system for premature newborns. The bottles use a patented two-piece, internal vent system that prevents air from getting into the liquid and eliminates pressure build-up inside the bottle, which many parents find makes for happier – and less-gassy – babies.

Downsides? The two-piece vent system is a bit harder to clean, and the internal pieces can make it more difficult to mix formula in the bottle. But for parents who find Dr. Brown’s bottles cut down on feeding fussiness and colic, the pros far outweigh the cons.

When purchasing, make sure that you are buying the BPA-free bottles. Dr. Brown’s switched over to BPA-free polypropylene over a year ago, but we’ve still seen old stock for sale online.

From Babies “R” Us, 3-pack for $15.99 (8 oz.)
