Babble Best Picks:
Cloth Diapers
Cloth diapers aren't always the most convenient or cheapest option, but it's a choice that's healthy for your baby and the planet. Plus, they've come a long way! Today you can find highly absorbent, easy-to-fit cloth diapers that are used exactly like disposables - only you throw them in the wash instead of the garbage. Plus, it's not an all-or-nothing decision. You can use hybrid options (which are biodegradable but disposable), or supplement your cloth diapers with disposables.
Yet all of these advances have given cloth-using parents one problem: too many diapers to choose from! Luckily, we tested 17 of the most popular cloth diapers - from prefolds to all-in-ones - to find the best of the best. Did we forget one? Nominate your favorite here.

AppleCheeks has elastic in front and is not further restricted by anything else like the BumEssentials are. The velcro straps on the BEs totally negates the wonderful movement the elastic would provide.
Interesting for those of us who CD
FYI-for those out there that are looking into CD’ing
they seem as good (maybe better, i havent tried them yet) as the ones i use (baby beehinds and cushie tushies) but the bum essentials just dont look as good. sorry guys, thats why i didnt vote for them. call me vain, but i like my lil girl to have cute things on her tush as long as they work as well as they look :/
I’m cheap and lazy, so I like prefolds (Green Mountain Diapers tbs) and covers. Most other stuff is just too expensive to be used as poo catchers
. And as far as easiest to wash, prefolds and flats are so much easier to wash than any AIO, pocket or hybrid of the two. Especially if you use some sort of liner.
In addition, you can’t beat the custom fit offered by prefolds (well, flats offer more customization, but like I said, I’m cheap but also lazy).
as a shop owner with cloth diaper also remember that is is about the individual baby. I try and tell my mom’s not to get to caught up in the hype of one diaper vs. another and just use what works best for their baby. I think the FB OS work great for skinny legs too. Also, I am super excited about the Best Bottoms Diaper System and a New Brand Baby Chai by Lucky Jade…yummy bamboo!
Love that you posted this! I am a huge fan of the FuzziBunz One Size. If any of you are looking for a one-stop read to learn how the heck to get started, this covers it all! http://styleberryblog.com/2010/05/21/an-accidental-passion-cloth-diapering-for-the-modern-mom/
Have you tried out Best Bottom Diapers? Where would they rate compared to the Bummis Diaper?
