Top 25 Android Apps for Kids
You may view your Android phone as a communications device, but your kids know that it's actually an awesome mobile gaming center. When you're caught in traffic or facing an unexpectedly long wait at the pediatrician's office, you are going to hand over that phone. The kids will be happy, you'll be relieved, and, if you choose your apps carefully, they might even learn something while they play. On a safety note, while some of these games have the option to network with other players, I don't recommend that for kids. Let them know they shouldn't select anything that says "Share" or "Sign into a network." Did I leave out your favorite? - Sonya Mukherjee

Drop Words’ Rankings

Letter blocks are stacked in a grid. When you find three or more letters that form a word, those letters disappear, the blocks above them slide down, and new letters appear at the top. Since the letters you select need to be adjacent to one another, this means that the possible letter combinations keep changing, and advanced players have a chance to strategize about which words they select first. A race against the clock adds excitement to the game, and players can choose their board size and difficulty level. Here’s a chance to learn spelling and vocabulary within a game that’s pure fun for kids – and parents.
