Top 25 Android Apps for Kids
You may view your Android phone as a communications device, but your kids know that it's actually an awesome mobile gaming center. When you're caught in traffic or facing an unexpectedly long wait at the pediatrician's office, you are going to hand over that phone. The kids will be happy, you'll be relieved, and, if you choose your apps carefully, they might even learn something while they play. On a safety note, while some of these games have the option to network with other players, I don't recommend that for kids. All By Myself
Another great offering from Oceanhouse Media, the developers of The Cat in the Hat, this charming Mercer Mayer story offers very similar app features. Kids will find Little Critter’s mishaps hilarious, and probably relatable, as he attempts to do all kinds of tasks himself, with disastrous results. The narrator here, as in The Cat in the Hat, strikes just the right tone, sounding like a favorite preschool teacher. Oceanhouse offers several Little Critter stories; this happens to be my personal favorite, but you may also want to check out I Just Forgot or Just Grandma and Me, among others.
