Babble Best Toys of 2012
The New York Toy Fair is one of the biggest toy conventions in the world, with everyone from toy giants (like Hasbro and Fisher-Price) to innovative start-up companies (like Begin Again and iBuKu) sharing their newest designs and imaginative ideas for kids toys. We were the envy of every child this week, sorting through hundreds of thousands of new products to find the very best toys of 2012. And we have to say it was an impressive year, filled with tech innovations, toys made of unique eco-materials, and a few brand new companies that deserve serious recognition. If we missed one of your favorite new toys of 2012, nominate it here! - Michelle Horton

Symphony in B. | B. Toys
This is one of my favorite toy finds of 2012. It’s a unique, educational idea and can truly grow with your toddler. Kids can choose up to 6 instruments to put in the “orchestra pit,” and then listen to their unique symphony. With 15 songs and 13 different instruments to choose from, Symphony in B. makes endless composition combinations possible. It also uses lights to teach the different sections of an orchestra and comes with a Playbill, with songs ranging from “Twinkle, Twinkle Little Star” to Beethoven’s “Fifth Symphony.” And like everything from B. Toys, Symphony in B. is BPA-, lead-, and phthalate-free.
Ages: 3 – 13 years
