We used the Graco Pack N Play a lot for travel, nap time, etc. I’m glad to see a lot of other portable options as well. I own a company that manufactures sheets for the Pack N Play. During my research on design, I compiled some safety information when using portable cribs for travel:
* Make sure portacrib and playard sheets fit snugly on mattress and overlap the mattress so it cannot be dislodged by pulling on the corner of the sheet. (Check out our No-Slip Playard Sheets – take one with you when you travel!)
* Never use an adult sheet on a portacrib or playard mattress; it can come loose and present an entanglement hazard to young children.
* Place a baby on his/her back on a firm, tight-fitting mattress in a crib meeting current safety standards.
* Remove pillows, quilts, comforters, and sheepskins from the crib.

#7 is the one Aurora has slept in since we moved her out of the cradle!!! She loves her “tent”.
I can’t believe this list didn’t include Guava Family’s “Go Crib”. It’s super-light, inflatable, and you carry it in a backpack. We have it and we love it – it travels everywhere with us!

I also can’t believe they didn’t include the GoCrib or the PeaPod. They have 2 cribs that aren’t even portable and 3 Pack and Plays that are essentially the same. Come on Babble, we expect better than this. A little more research would have been nice. For what it’s worth, we love our GoCrib.
How about a mattress topper? They make the mattress for playards tso uncomfortable. My mother-in-law bough us a mattress topper from http://www.comfikids.com It folds in 3 and you can wash the cover.
I work as a family day care educator for 25 years .i have had a lot of portable cots … I have one phil & teds and buying another soon .when i saw that it had a zip on the side , i could not believe it. so good for your back .its light , zip on top ,when your outside to stop bugs , great colors .UNBELIEVABLE
I have a Regalo pack & play but the mesh part of the crib has a fist size hole in it – dont know how to patch it up or replace it ??
