Dance Star Mickey at #1? Seriously?

  2. says:

What is up with the ‘pink kitchen’ vs the ‘primary color workbench’? Aren’t we starting the gender classification a wee bit early, here? That part sucks. Lame toy.

  3. says:

If these are the “best” of the year, we’ll stick with sticks and leaves for now, thanks.

  4. says:

Wow, this list really makes it look like you guys just gave placement to the highest bidder.

I can totally see my kids loving all of these toys…I’m going to pass it on to my sister right now so all the cousins can play together with them! Thanks!

I agree that it would be nice if more of the BIG toys of 2010 were organic and wooden and natural — but c’mon people. This list is about what our KIDS would like — and I know plenty of kids who would die for a dancing Mickey. And did you all not look at those awesome blocks?

This is a nice list. Another site that offers more of the best toys for 2010 and shows where they are in stock online is

    http://www.HotToys2010.com

Good luck (and get your shopping done early while the hot toys are still in stock!)

The only thing I *love* on this list are those blocks…but where in the world do you find them for only $29.95? Everywhere I look they are at least $89…

I see no learning toys? My GS is already learing his abc’s and numbers, colors? where are the Techie toys for learning?

  15. says:

this is ridiculous! New generation of parents is your motto? You should be ashamed.

  16. says:

People, People. These gals who write the blog did not chose the toys, it is based on high demand! Kids nowadays are so advanced that they actually tell us what they want to play with and we let them decide. Please don’t be so surprised that there aren’t any learning toys here.

I went to a large toy store to find a brrom and dustpan for my son. When I asked where I might find the brooms, I was told they were in the girl’s section!! I said to the salesperson…”seriously?” She just said “yeah, I know…” I can’t believe that the gender roles are bought into so early!

  18. says:

Really? This is the best? Way to kow-tow to the big name companies.

If you are looking for an eco alternative to these favorite toys (we carry Hape!) check out Summer for Kids (http://www.summerforkids.com/)!! We believe green is fun and so do our little ones! :-D

What happened to this site? I used to read it all the time, and had just checked back in. It’s not at all the edgy, mod, creative site it used to be. How on earth could a Mickey Mouse toy show up on this list?????

  21. says:

My opinion of Babble continues to drop. What a pathetic bunch of plastic, commercialized junk.

  22. says:

um seriously this is the best you can do? i could do better than that. i might as well start up my own website with the top rated toys of the year, i’d have to add educational toys plus alot of other things. i mean where’s the variety in this list?

  23. says:

Organeco Blocks retail for $99- not $29!!!

  24. says:

My nephew’s (3 y.o.) absolute favorite toys are Hot Wheels. He seriously will play with them all day if he was allowed. I bought him a 20 pack of toy cars for his birthday from this site for a really good price! And it shipped in only 3 days!
Buy these for your Toddler! :)
