Babble Best Picks: Training PottiesWhen the time comes to potty train - whether that's at 12 months or 3 years - there are dozens and dozens of potty seats to choose from. And while we wish we could tell you what the unequivocal best is, a lot has to do with your child's age, your personal preference, and simple trial and error. Some toddlers prefer the security of a tiny potty seat, while others will step up to the big toilet from the get-go. Some parents don't mind cleaning out a plastic potty, while others gag at the mere thought. That said, we did find top contenders in various categories, whether your main concern is price, aesthetics, or overall performance. Read through to find our favorite potty seats on the market - and don't forget to check out close runners-up in our Readers' Choice section. Don't see your favorite on the list? BEST POTTY RING | Baby Bjorn Toilet Trainer
It was a close call between this potty ring and the Prince Lionheart weePOD, but we ultimately decided that the Toilet Trainer deserves our top spot. Unlike traditional cushioned potty rings, the Bjorn’s hard, contoured (BPA-free) plastic won’t crack and collect germs, and it even adjusts to fit any size and shape toilet seat. Not only will it better fit elongated seats, but a custom fit is more stable and safe for little learners. And unlike the weePOD, the Baby Bjorn Toilet Trainer is a little less bulky, making it easier for kids to climb on and for parents to throw into an overnight bag. We found urine under the potty ring a couple of times, but that was the case with all attachable rings.
If you think your little one would prefer something a little more padded (and with a larger splashguard), check out the super comfy, crack-resistant Prince Lionheart weePOD.
