Amy Turn Sharp, mother of two in Columbus, Ohio.
Why We Love Her:
Little Alouette – one of the most successful natural toy companies on Etsy – is a combination of Amy’s artistic talent, her husband’s carpentering skills and their mutual eco-conscious lifestyle. Although the husband-wife duo spent years collaborating to remodel homes, their Etsy endeavor was inspired by a desire to give their kids safe, responsible toys. Little Alouette’s rattles, teethers and other wooden toys are safe alternatives to chemical-littered plastics, all made from locally cultivated wood and finished with organic seed oil. Plus, the mustaches, guitars and butterflies look way cooler than mass-market toys. In Amy’s words, “Each product is made by hand and usually all the wood is surrounded by cups of tea, laughing children and disco music, so each product will come to you infused with love and bliss.” And style, we have to add. Plus, we love that Amy makes a donation for every purchase to Tree Pals, which teaches children about tree planting.
