Getting engaged is one of those moments in life we all remember. Whether you asked the question or gave the answer, you were probably filled with butterflies and nerves. I can still very clearly remember the day my husband got down on one knee and presented a gorgeous, simple diamond ring and asked me to marry him. It was an easy answer and a gorgeous token ring that spoke perfectly to my taste. It’s something I am proud to wear every day.
Diamonds seem to be the most common decoration on engagement rings and yet, there’s no real need for it to be. If diamonds are not your style for whatever reason, there are many other rings to choose from that can provide just the same (or more) “wow factor” as the more traditional engagement rings.
Here are 5 rings that offer the wow of the traditional engagement rings, but don’t have any diamonds:
1. White Moonstone & Yellow Gold
I love the simple elegance of this ring from the textured gold to the cut of the beautiful moonstone. It’s a stand-out piece that will add more flare than a simple diamond.

2. White Opal
This ring is so beautiful, so simple, and yet makes a big statement that will stand out from the common diamond rings. The white opal is the star of this piece and paired with sterling silver, it’s perfect.

3. Blue Sapphire
I love blue sapphires and if I received this ring, I would be so in love with it. The deep color of blue is very eye-catching and the white gold compliments it so well!
Do you love it? Get it from honngaijewelry on Etsy, $668.
4. White Akoya Pearl
I think pearls are a perfect choice for any engagement ring because they’re just as timeless as the diamond, but since they’re not as common, your ring will really pop. I especially love the setting in this ring and the gold is just perfect.
Do you love it? Check it out from louisagallery on Etsy, $195.
5. Red Sapphire
Sapphires are gorgeous in every color and wow, they do pop! This red sapphire is a real show-stopper, and if you’re a September baby, it’s your birth stone for an added personal touch. The sterling silver compliments the emerald cut sapphire very well.
