Marriage Equality: A Good PlanLaura Mayes
So last night, as we were brushing teeth and tucking in, Harry out-of-nowhere said, “I think I want a godmother and godbrother and godsister.” His godfather – we call him “Padrino” – is gay and in a committed relationship.
I said, “Well you’re not getting a godmother but you could get another godfather.”
I explained the marriage equality push and what is happening in the Supreme Court (also, what the Supreme Court is). I then explained that Padrino and his partner may want to get married.
Harry responded, “Is that their plan?”
I said, “I think so.”
He said, “That’s a good plan.”
I love this kid.
