As the popular wedding seasons draw closer, brides and grooms are putting the finishing touches on all the wedding details. They’re checking off their to-do list to make their special day one they’ll remember forever and one hopefully their guests remember, too.
One way to make the night memorable for yourselves and your guests is to put together a killer reception full of fun decorations, great food, and even better music. I love a good party and nothing makes a wedding reception better for those who are there to celebrate than a good night of dancing.
If you’re still putting together your wedding playlist, there are some classic songs you’re probably going to pump through the speakers. If you’re still on the fence over what your first dance song will be — that’s the first place to start and then you can fill out that playlist with one of these top 5 most requested wedding songs for 2014.
Each year a survey goes around asking wedding disc jockeys what song was the most requested and those answers are compiled. This year, radio station Mix 106.5 put out a list of the top 20 most requested in 2014.
Here are the Top 5 Most Requested Wedding Songs for 2014:
5. “Livin’ on a Prayer” Bon Jovi
It doesn’t matter that this song came out forever ago, people love what they love and this is one of them.
4. “Sexy and I Know It” LMFAO
I am so over this song and yet it never seems to go away. I’m not surprised to see this as one of the top requested, but not thrilled about it either.
3. “I Gotta Feeling” Black Eyed Peas
This song screams wedding song because that’s the whole point of the reception, right? To make it a memorable night for all.
2. “Cupid Shuffle” Cupid
I had to look this song up because just by the name alone, I’d have no idea what to request to hear it. I have never heard of it though — you? This is a strange addition on the list for me.
1. “Don’t Stop Believin'” Journey
Another classic song from forever ago that seems to be played at every wedding reception since the dawn of time.
Do you have any upcoming weddings to attend this summer?
